To facilitate communications

The trite cliche about polarizing figures in pop culture is that "you love them or hate them," which is rarely true. Most people are just indifferent. But if anyone approaches that kind of reaction in others, it's John Lydon. Here is a clip of his infamous interview with Tom Snyder back in 1980, when Lydon was "singing" for the "communications company" Public Image Limited. Lydon is honest and brutal, but his sneer at the end of the video is priceless and hilarious. I actually like Snyder - some of his other interviews over the years, with the Clash, Charles Manson, Elton John, etc. have been great - but Lydon was and is a pretty formidable interview. This truly underscores the lack of such figures in today's music industry, but either way, if you can't laugh at the interaction between these two, I'd love to know what actually does qualify as humor. Here's a full transcript of the interview if you're curious - there are plenty of good quips.
